FINALITA’: Il corso si pone l’obiettivo di fornire ai partecipanti le basi essenziali per la costruzione di un reportage fotografico e le conoscenze necessarie per operare in modo professionale nel mercato attuale. Verranno analizzate le possibilità offerte dai giornali ai siti web, dalle agenzie ai concorsi fotografici.
Lettura portfolio. Ogni corsista avrà la possibilità di presentare i propri lavori a Emiliano Mancuso e Moriah De Zen al fine di ottenere un’analisi ragionata e costruttiva. Un’importante occasione di confronto da cui trarre utili suggerimenti per migliorare il proprio lavoro e trasformarlo in un prodotto vendibile.
I lavori presentati (un massimo di due per ogni fotografo) possono anche essere “in progress” ma ognuno deve focalizzare con coerenza un determinato tema di interesse. Ogni reportage proposto dovrà essere composto da un minimo di 15 ad un massimo di 30 immagini formato jpeg.

EMILIANO MANCUSO. Nato a Roma nel 1971, dove ancora vive. Ha iniziato tardi a pensare alla fotografia come mezzo espressivo per documentare la storia e rappresentare la realtà. Inizialmente era interessato all’immagine solo come problema filosofico, sino a laurearsi in Filosofia nel 1997 per poi specializzarsi in Estetica. Lasciati gli studi postuniversitari, all’età di 28 anni ha iniziato a lavorare nel fotogiornalismo. Attualmente collabora con le più importanti testate nazionali ed internazionali. Dal 2009 è membro dell’Agenzia Contrasto.
MORIAH DE ZEN. Si diploma con Lode all’Accademia di Belle Arti NABA di Milano dove studia comunicazione e fotografia. Prosegue la sua formazione a Londra; tornata in Italia collabora con agenzie di pubblicità e aziende. Nel 2003 fonda un’agenzia di comunicazione integrata e inizia la sua attività espositiva cui seguono numerose mostre personali e collettive in Italia e all’estero. Nel 2011 e 2012 è assistente di Enrico Bossan e senior editor di due blog di fotografia. Tiene corsi e workshop di tecnica e linguaggio della fotografia. Si dedica a progetti di ricerca personale e di reportage tra il sociale e il documentario. È rappresentata dall’Agenzia ASABlanca e da Galleria Gallerati di Roma. Ha base ad Asolo.

“Photography reflections. From shooting to publication”

FINALITIES: The course aims to provide to participants with the essential bases for the construction of a photographic reportage and the basic knowledge required to professionally operate in the current market. It will explore the possibilities offered by newspapers, websites, agencies, photographic competitions.
Portfolio review. Each participant will have the opportunity to present their work to Emiliano Mancuso and Moriah De Zen in order to obtain a constructive feedback. An important opportunity to discussion and gain useful suggestions to improve your work and turn it into a sellable work.
The works presented (a maximum of two per photographer) can also be “in progress” but everyone has to focus consistently a specific topic of interest. Each submitted portfolio must incude a minimum of 15 to a maximum of 30 images jpeg format.

EMILIANO MANCUSO. Born in Rome in 1971, where he lives. He started late to think of photography as a medium to document history and represent reality. Initially he was only interested in the image in philosophical terms; graduated in Philosophy in 1997 he then specialized in Aesthetics. Left postgraduate studies, at age 28 he began working in photojournalism. He currently works with the most important national and international magazines. Since 2009 he is member of the Contrasto Agency.
MORIAH DE ZEN. Graduating with honours, she did visual studies at the NABA (New Fine Arts Academy) in Milan. She then continued her studies in London; on her return to Italy she worked independently with advertising agencies and companies. In 2003 she set up her own advertising agency and photography studio and began to formally exhibit her work in personal and group exhibition in Italy and abroad. In 2011 and 2012 she was assistant for Enrico Bossan and senior editor for two blogs. She teaches photography in courses and workshops. She dedicates herself to personal research projects, portraiture and reportage on the edge between social and documentary photography. She is represented by ASABlanca and Galleria Gallerati of Rome; she is based in Treviso in Italy.
